Discounted Admission to Attractions
Explore the Canal Belt; a free canal cruise is included in the I amsterdam City card. The pass also gives you free access to the Artis Royal Zoo. On other attractions in Amsterdam you will receive a 25% discount on the admission fee. If you are planning to visit both museums and attractions perhaps the Amsterdam Holland Pass is a better (and cheaper) way to explore the Amsterdam Highlights.
Public Transport
The card includes a pass for unlimited use of Amsterdam’s GVB public transport system. For the duration of 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours you can use trams, busses and metros. Please note: The pass is not valid on trains (NS – Dutch Railways) or on busses operated by Connexxion, EBS and RET.
Daytrips to Haarlem and the Zaanse Schans
The I amsterdam City Card offers free entry to 2 museums in Haarlem, 9 attractions in the ‘Zaanse Schans’ and 4 attractions in the small vilages Enkhuizen, Volendam & Marken.
Haarlem is a nearby town with beautiful historical churches, a cathedral, interesting museums and the famous Haarlem’s ‘hofjes’ (courtyards).
Some think that the ‘Zaanse Schans’ is an open-air museum with the traditional Dutch houses, wooden shoe workshops, cheese farm, windmills and more. But it still is a town actually.
Enkhuizen, Volendam & Marken are small and old old fisherman’s villageswith lively harbours, terraces, cosy eateries and Dutch herring carts. And with a bit of luck you’ll bump into a resident wearing the traditional costume.

I bought a Iamsterdam Card in May 2018 but I never used it or activated. I notice the 2019 card if not used is good until 2020. I have emailed Iamstedam 3 times and have gotten no reply. I am going back to Amsterdam in October 2019 for a couple days and would like to know if the 2018 card is still valid. Thanks.

Hello,
My mother, my sister and I will be visiting Amsterdam at the end of May 2019. I would like to buy us an I Amsterdam card each and book tickets for museums, a canal cruise and tickets to the ballet, but it is difficult to know which canal cruise is included in the card and if ballet tickets are discounted.

My family will be spending 3 days in Amsterdam before leaving on a cruise. There are 5 of us, including a 2-1/2 year old toddler. We hope to use the canals to get around town and definitely will visit the VanGogh & the Rijksmuseum and want to visit the parks. Which pass would be best for us? Also, do we need to purchase a pass for the toddler?

We will be arriving Sunday; seek advise as to ‘BEST’ card . We intend to see much of the city (4 days) as we can- especially the Van Gogh, Stedelijk, and Rijksmuseum In addition, canal trips, tram use, Vondelpark, various churches and/or houses, with plenty of dining & tasting….your recommended ‘CARD’ please.

Hello. My girlfriend and I are coming in Amsterdam during Easter Weekend (arrival Thursday 13.04 before noon, departure on Sunday end of the afternoon). We would like to visit Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Allard Pierson Museum, Sexmuseum, Heineken Experience, Rembrandthuis and Anne Frank Huis. With perhaps canal tour and some churches (Oude Kerk). With free transport tickets and discount on bars and restaurants. What would be the better choice for a discount card. And with the discount card, is it possible to already book tickets on Internet I order to spare time or do we have just to use the fast entrance lane at the museum? Thanks for your answer.

For Anne Frank Huse you always have to buy a separate ticket. You can’t buy discount tickets online with an discount card; you have to use the fast entrance lane.Reply

Hello. Myself and my husband are due to visit amsterdam on other March for 4 nights. We want to visit the Anne Frank house, a few museums, the ice bar, ajax stadium and have public transport for the duration. We will be staying at the golden tulip amsterdam west so have been informed public transport is a must. We fly home early on the monday so won’t be planning anything for that day. What option would you say is the better one financially for these? I realise Anne Frank’s house will cost regardless amd we also plan on going on a canal cruise.
