Cheston loved to garden, go to all the special events with Chariton Valley, and also going to the sale barn. He always had a smile on his face.Cheston was loved by many. He made an impact on those around him, and he will be greatly missed. Below are just a few of the people that were impacted by Cheston and by his kind loving nature.

Cheston liked to look sharp and could be quite the flirt. He had a softer side that loved art, concerts, and helping in whatever way he could, but was a well-rounded kind of guy who also loved sports cars, monster trucks, car shows, boating, fishing, and attending sporting events. He was passionate about wrestling—whether it was watching wrestling on TV, attending a meet, arm wrestling, or even thumb wrestling. He had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh. He often could be found watching America’s Funniest Videos or YouTube videos of dog bloopers and laughing babies. He was known for lighting up the room and when he smiled, it reached his eyes. He will be greatly missed. -Dana

I had the pleasure of knowing Cheston these past eight years. I have been trying to rack my brain for one story that would sum up who Cheston was and what he meant to all of us. There are so many stories. His laughter was contagious et his orneriness was unmatched. One memory I would like to share is when we went to the homecoming MU game. We had football, cheerleaders, music, and fireworks. I hear Cheston start giggling. So, I follow his gaze. He is watching two little girls with pom poms playing on the benches. No matter how hard we try to get him to watch the game, his focus is on the girls almost the whole time. Not even the cheerleaders could divert his attention. This seems to encompass who Cheston is. He was a gentle soul that loved to smile and to make others laugh. From dancing and singing in the mornings when I got him up, to thumb wrestling/arm wrestling through the day, he loved, and he loved well. I had the privilege of not only taking care of Cheston but becoming great friends. He will be missed more than he knows. As I always told him, “Everything is better with a little bit of Cheddar”. To Chet, Cheddar bug, Cheddar…. rest in sweet peace and fly high, angel. -Kari

I’ve been trying to find the right words all day. I know I have only known Cheston just a little short of a year, but his smile could literally make anyone’s day. He loved to bake (always trying to sneak a bite), being outside checking on the flowers, spraying us with the water hose anytime he could get his hands on it. He loved to hold onto snowballs. He loved big trucks and tractors and loved all the staff unconditionally. Cheston gave the best fist bumps and was also one heck of an arm wrestler. He will forever hold a place in my heart. Even on the worst day, he still made me smile today as I took a walk down memory lane. Thank you, Cheston, for letting me share every morning I worked with you. It was the only way I knew how to start my day with cranking up our tunes and starting the day off right. We will all be a little lost without you here keeping us in check, but I know for sure you are free. Thank you, Cheston, for putting some shine in our lives. Rest easy. -Kendra

Ooh my word, I’m so sorry! Fly high, Buddy, I miss you already. I’m so thankful you got to go to see the tractors and see that huge smile on your face with your new shirt. Be sure to show it to the Lord. He’ll love it. Rest in peace CB. -Penny

Cheston had a smile that could light up a room and a great sense of humor. He loved to live life to the fullest and loved people. Cheston wanted to look good and was very specific on picking out his clothing. I remember one shopping trip he found a camouflage hoodie and as we walked by it, he reached out and grabbed it off the rack. The one he had picked was not his size, so I offered one in his size, and it took 5 minutes to convince him to trade, he didn’t want to let go of that shirt. Cheston loved flowers and gardening, we would go and pick out flowers every spring to plant and he would have to cruise the whole plant section before he would pick out the flowers he wanted. Cheston knew what he wanted in life and loved to be able to make his own choices. Cheston loved animals, he was always so gentle when we would go to the PetSmart and pet the kittens, he loved it when they would crawl on him. Cheston communicated in his own way. He couldn’t speak words, but he spoke volumes through his eyes and facial expressions. He will be missed by all of us, our world has changed, and a light has left us, but we know he will always be looking down on us and smiling. -Cristina

Cheston had a kind heart towards animals and babies. He always smiled so big when they were near and was very gentle. Cheston also loved to play connect four and do the surprised face. Cheston also loved watching The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars. I always made sure I turned on the Bachelor on Monday nights before I left at 7 pm. Cheston always gave a helping hand with cooking, decorating, sweeping, almost anything you could think of! -Chloe

A Private family service will be held with burial at Yarrow Cemetery in Yarrow, MO.
