The Kansas City Chiefs will make their first selection of the 2024 NFL draft in a matter of hours after an offseason full of preparation.

The defending Super Bowl champions have a few holes on their roster and could stand to add a few talented rookies who can compete for playing time as Kansas City looks to secure the first title three-peat in NFL history.

General manager Brett Veach has had no problem finding elite prospects in every phase of the NFL draft in the past and is sure to have a few tricks up his sleeve to ensure that the Chiefs get value with their picks.

Every other team in the NFL is dead-set on stopping Kansas City’s run of dominance, and trades may be hard to come by for the Chiefs as Veach looks to maneuver his team into the best possible position in each round.

Check out this full seven-round mock that has Kansas City choosing a wide receiver, offensive tackle, and cornerback with their first three selections:

Round 1, Pick 32: Texas WR Adonai Mitchell

Mitchell might be the most underrated receiver predicted to be selected in the first round. If he falls to Kansas City at pick No. 32, Mitchell could be destined for stardom and the NFL may need to brace for another season destined to be dominated by the Chiefs.

Round 2, Pick 64: Yale OT Kiran Amegadjie

Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

Amegadjie should be a top target for Kansas City in Round 2 as a developmental tackle who might have a chance to start for the Chiefs in his rookie year. While his game needs refinement, Amegadjie is a high-end prospect with all the tools needed to carve out a long career in the NFL.

Round 3, Pick 95: Missouri CB Kris Abrams-Draine

Abrams-Draine is the second-best Mizzou cornerback prospect in this draft class but could prove to be more of a value for Kansas City in Round 3 than his running mate, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., who is projected to go late on Day 1 or early on Day 2. The Chiefs need to bring in a cornerback to fill the hole left by L’Jarius Sneed on their depth chart, and Abrams-Draine is among the most exciting players expected to fall into the third round.

Round 4, Pick 131: Kentucky LB Trevin Wallace

Kentucky’s Trevin Wallace recovers the fumble and moves the ball against Florida Saturday afternoon.

Wallace won’t be ready to start as a rookie but is another toolsy prospect that Kansas City could develop into a difference-maker for Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. His athleticism is evident on film, and with the right mentors around him, Wallace may be able to translate his raw ability into productivity at the NFL level.

Round 5, Pick 159: Louisville RB Isaac Guerendo

Final Chiefs 7-round mock: Kansas City selects WR, OT, CB early (6)

Louisville’s Isaac Guerendo celebrated scoring a touchdown against Virginia in L & N Stadium.
Nov. 9, 2023

One of the best testers at the 2024 NFL Combine, Guerendo’s draft stock has shot up in the last month as scouts and talent evaluators project his talent to the professional game. Paired with Isiah Pacheco, Guerendo may be able to become one of the best backups in the NFL as a rookie and develop into a starter after gaining experience in Andy Reid’s offense.

Round 5, Pick 173: Illinois TE Tip Reiman

Final Chiefs 7-round mock: Kansas City selects WR, OT, CB early (7)

Ron Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Teams typically look for potential instead of production near the end of the NFL draft, and Reiman is a great example of a player who put up lackluster numbers in college but has all the traits that could make him a serviceable second-stringer as a professional. Reiman made some waves at the combine in March, and may be destined to be a Chief if he falls to Kansas City’s last pick in the fifth round.

Round 7, Pick 221: Houston DL Nelson Ceaser

Final Chiefs 7-round mock: Kansas City selects WR, OT, CB early (8)

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Ceaser was a key piece of Houston’s defenses in 2022 and 2023 and would be a steal for the Chiefs in the seventh round. His physical traits make Ceaser a special prospect, and while Kansas City doesn’t necessarily need another edge rusher in this draft, this Houston prospect may prove to be too tempting to pass on in Round 7.
